Gospel-centered Children's Ministry Curriculum

Brite is a Bible-based children’s ministry curriculum from Awana designed for churches serving children from birth through elementary school. Created for Sunday school and weekend children’s ministry programs, Brite helps churches move beyond simply teaching Bible stories to intentionally discipling children toward a lifelong faith in Jesus.

Through chronological Bible teaching, age-appropriate lessons, engaging activities, and meaningful conversations, Brite helps children understand God’s Word, see how every part of Scripture points to Jesus, and apply biblical truth to their everyday lives.

Built around Awana’s Belong, Believe, Become discipleship framework, Brite includes ready-to-use lessons, volunteer-friendly teaching resources, and parent tools that help churches partner with families in discipling children throughout the week.

Brite is a Gospel-centered curriculum that helps kids understand the Bible as one big story rather than a collection of disconnected stories. Kids move chronologically through Scripture and learn how each lesson fits within God’s story of creation, fall, redemption and restoration.

Brite is created for your entire Children’s Ministry—infants through elementary. Brite Preschool and Brite Elementary can each stand alone, but they are designed to work together in harmony. While we encourage you to use Brite for all age groups, you can purchase Preschool and Elementary separately.

Brite Preschool is designed for babies, toddlers, younger preschoolers and older preschoolers. Each lesson includes age-appropriate components so you can tailor the experience to the developmental stage of the children in your ministry.

Yes! Brite Preschool and Brite Elementary follow the same chronological scope and sequence, allowing children across your ministry to study the same Scripture at the same time in age-appropriate ways. This also makes it easier for families with children in different age groups to continue the conversation at home.

Brite is designed to do more than help kids know Bible stories or learn how to make good choices. Every lesson is grounded in Scripture and points kids to Jesus, helping them understand who God is, how each story fits into the bigger story of the Gospel and how biblical truth shapes the way they live. Through age-appropriate Bible teaching, He/We/Me discussions, apologetics and intentional discipleship, Brite helps kids build biblical literacy and a faith that lasts.

At this point in time, there is no “bundle” purchase option.

You will access lessons by logging onto Britecurriculum.com. Then you can either download the files you need, or by using our online portal, where you’ll find the same materials available without needing to download them.

Brite is built on a subscription-based model, updated regularly with brand-new content and materials released each month. Customers have access to units two months prior to the month of intended use, and for 1-2 months afterward before it cycles off our website. At any point during these 4 months of access, you can download all of the resources.

Your subscription includes complete weekly lessons along with large group and small group materials, teaching scripts, slides, activities, videos and media, leader resources and training, and family discipleship resources. Materials vary slightly between Preschool and Elementary based on the developmental needs of each age group.

Our pricing allows you the most flexibility to size for your ministry. Since preschool and elementary are separate purchases, only calculate how many kids you have in each specific age group. For example, if you have 200 kids in your ministry, but only 50 are preschoolers, you will purchase the preschool curriculum for 25-50 kids.

Yes. Our video clips supplement the lesson with both live-action and animated features that kids love!

Yes! Brite is designed to be flexible. The included Word documents are fully editable, including teaching scripts and other ministry resources, so you can customize them for your church. You can also choose the activities and lesson components that best fit your kids, volunteers, schedule and space.

Absolutely. Although our videos are popular with kids, they are supplemental, not required for using the lessons effectively.

No. Brite gives you a variety of activities, discussion questions, media and teaching options so you can choose what works best for your ministry. You can build your weekend around the components that fit your time, space, volunteers and kids.

Each month we provide a memory verse song and lyric video. Preschool also includes a “Find it in the Bible song.” Brite also has a partnership with WorshipHouse Kids to provide helpful links to a variety of media recommendations (worship, games, countdown videos) that can supplement your Brite lesson.

Sure! Although we designed Brite to fit the unique needs for weekend church, you can use it any day when child discipleship is happening. In fact, right now we have churches using Brite as their midweek curriculum, after school clubs, and more!

Yes! Brite lessons are highly adaptable and work well in both classroom style and large group/small group formats. You can pick and choose the elements that work best for your church.

Brite includes resources designed to help leaders feel prepared and confident, including lesson road maps, leader training topics, teaching adaptations for different learners and editable teaching materials. Additional support includes the Brite Leaders Podcast, newsletters, online resources and the *brite Leaders and Disciplemakers Facebook community.

Yes! Parent resources include monthly overviews and activity calendars, weekly parent sheets and social media graphics you can post to keep parents informed about what’s happening in your ministry.

Brite helps parents take what kids are learning at church and continue the conversation throughout the week. Family devotionals, discussion prompts and simple activities reinforce each lesson at home, giving families practical ways to talk about Scripture and grow in faith together.

Since Brite pricing is based on your number of kids, we allow that number to represent the combined kids at all your campuses.

We’re built on a 52-week schedule that moves chronologically through the Bible, but also thematically coordinates with Christmas and Easter.

Not exactly. Brite uses a dynamic three-year rotation of curated Bible stories. While kids move chronologically through the Bible each year, the stories change so they continue building a broader understanding of Scripture rather than repeating the exact same lessons year after year. Christmas and Easter are also incorporated at the appropriate points in the calendar.

Brite is available in Canada, UK, and Ireland along with the United States. You find out more here. We hope to expand this in the future, but no plans are in the works for additional countries at this time.
