Brite Monthly – Elementary: March 2025

This Month’s Biblical Theme Is: Jesus Cares About Us

Time and time again, Jesus showed that He cared for everyone, regardless of their social standing. He paid special attention to the poor and the marginalized. Jesus spent His time with the outcasts of society and chose to be the ultimate sacrifice for everyone.

For the sake of clarity, we will be using the NIV 1984 version of our memory verse for this month.

Monthly Memory Verse: Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7, NIV)

Jesus Heals the Blind (Mark 10:46-52)
A blind beggar named Bartimaeus recognized Jesus as the Messiah. Jesus recognized Bartimaeus’ faith and healed him.

The Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37)
Jesus told a parable about a man who was robbed. The only person who would help him was a Samaritan. Jesus emphasizes that we should be kind to everyone.

Parable of the Rich Fool (Luke 12:13-21, 32-34)

Brite Idea: Jesus cares about our priorities.

Jesus Welcomes All (Luke 18:15-17; 19:1-10)
Despite societal expectations, Jesus welcomed children and those who were despised by society like Zacchaeus. Zacchaeus’ life was transformed by Jesus’ love.

This month’s Unit Title is: Pet Palooza

We are celebrating all the pets this month! Similar to how one may care for a pet, Jesus cares for us! Consider setting up a pet “adoption” with stuffed animals or decorate with paw prints. Turn balloons into animals. Make a paper chain snake by looping paper together. Have kids decorate fish to make an “aquarium.”

Check out our Pinterest page for more ideas at Pet Palooza.

This Month’s Leader Training Topic is: Safety Issues

Keeping kids safe at church is one of our top priorities as kidmin leaders. But where do you start? How do you come up with a system that is easy to implement? This month, we are covering some of the top safety concerns and what to do about them. Consider having a safety manual in each room that leaders can refer to whenever needed.

Throughout the month, we’ll explore the following:

  • Week 1: Allergies
  • Week 2: Roughhousing
  • Week 3: Bullying
  • Week 4: Missing Kid
  • Week 5: Choking Hazards
Teaching Kids about the Gospel

The Gospel is the good news. God wants everyone to know this good news and not miss out on this invitation!

Here’s the Gospel in four words: God, Us, Jesus, Trust.

God

God is a loving God who is all-powerful and holy. He knows and sees everything and rules over everything. God created all people in His image, and we are valuable to Him.

Us

But we have sinned, and our sin separates us from God. What is sin? Sin is anything we think, say or do that disobeys God. The penalty for sin is death and separation from God forever.

Jesus

But because God loves us so much, He sent His one and only Son, Jesus, to pay the penalty for our sin. Jesus died in our place. But He did not stay dead—He rose again three days later. Because of Jesus, we no longer have to be separated from God, and we are offered the free gift of eternal life!

Trust

God gives salvation—rescuing us from our sin, to everyone who places their trust in Jesus as their Savior. What is trust? It means that we rely on what Jesus did. You cannot be saved from sin by doing good things but only through what Jesus did for you.
