Brite Monthly – Elementary: September 2025
This Month’s Biblical Theme Is: God is Trustworthy
By giving the law to His people, God showed His commitment to the Israelites’ well-being. Joshua was rewarded for trusting God despite others’ fear. God was trustworthy as He led the Israelites to victory in Jericho. Samson’s life showed that even when people fail, God remains faithful and merciful, ready to redeem those who turn back to Him. Our stories reveal a God who is constant, powerful and worthy of trust in all circumstances.
Monthly Memory Verse: And those who know Your name put their trust in You, for You, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You. (Psalm 9:10)
Ten Commandments (Exodus 19–20)
God gave laws to Moses to show the people how to act toward Him and toward others. The Ten Commandments taught the people how to love God and love other people.
Brite Idea: God tells us how life works best.
The Twelve Spies (Numbers 13–14)
Moses sent spies to explore the Promised Land. The people gave into fear instead of trusting God. Consequently, the Israelites wandered in the wilderness for 40 years.
Brite Idea: God can be trusted.
The Walls of Jericho (Joshua 1:1–3; 5:13–6:27)
Joshua led the Israelite army in following God’s instructions. On the seventh day of the people marching around the city, the walls of Jericho fell. God led His people to victory!
Brite Idea: God leads His people.
Samson (Judges 13–16)
Samson was a judge while the Israelites were oppressed by the Philistines. Samson was dedicated to God but also caused trouble and did things his own way. Samson was captured, but God ultimately used him to destroy the Philistine leaders.
Brite Idea: God is faithful even when we are not.
This Month’s Unit Title Is: Champions’ Playbook
Just as you should listen to a coach when playing on a sports team, each Bible story will teach us how to listen to God’s playbook, the Bible! Like a trusty playbook, God’s Word is there guiding us through life. We can trust our heavenly Coach!

This Month’s Leader Training Topic Is: Safety
Unfortunately, the Church has not historically been as safe for kids as we would hope. Over the past few years, more stories of abuse within the Church have come to light. This month, our leader tips will raise awareness for preventing abuse.
Throughout the month, we’ll explore the following:
Week 1 – Recognising Abuse
Week 2 – Reporting Abuse
Week 3 – Signs of a Predator
Week 4 – Safety Precautions
Teaching Kids about the Gospel:
The Gospel is the good news. God wants everyone to know this good news and not miss out on this invitation!
Here’s the Gospel in four main words: God, Us, Jesus, Trust.
God
God is a loving God who is all-powerful and holy. He knows and sees everything and rules over everything. God created all people in His image, and we are valuable to Him.
Us
But we have sinned, and our sin separates us from God. What is sin? Sin is anything we think, say or do that disobeys God. The penalty for sin is death and separation from God forever.
Jesus
But because God loves us so much, He sent His one and only Son, Jesus, to pay the penalty for our sin. Jesus died in our place. But He did not stay dead—He rose again three days later. Because of Jesus, we no longer have to be separated from God, and we are offered the free gift of eternal life!
Trust
God gives salvation— rescuing us from our sin, to everyone who places their trust in Jesus as their Savior. What is trust? It means that we rely on what Jesus did. You cannot be saved from sin by doing good things, but only through what Jesus did for you.
