Brite Monthly – Elementary: February 2026

This Month’s Attribute of God Is: Jesus is Lord of all

Jesus is Lord of all—over rules, nature, people and even time itself. Jesus prioritized people over societal expectations, met earthly needs and broke through household tasks to draw people towards Himself. Alongside His humanity, Jesus also revealed His true divine nature on the mountaintop proving that we can trust Him as our Savior.

Monthly Memory Verse: So that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow…and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:10–11)

Jesus Heals on the Sabbath (Matthew 12:1–14)

The Pharisees were outraged when Jesus healed a man on the Sabbath because it defied the strict rules they had put in place. Jesus revealed that He is Lord of all and taught that following rules isn’t enough to be right with God.

Brite Idea: Jesus is Lord of all.

The Feeding of the 5,000 (John 6:1–15)

Jesus fed a large crowd with only five loaves and two fish. Everyone ate their fill—with twelve baskets of leftovers remaining. Amazed by the miracle, the crowd recognized Jesus as the prophet they had been waiting for.

Brite Idea: Jesus provides.

The Transfiguration (Mark 9:2–13; Luke 9:28–36)

Jesus awoke the disciples by revealing His true glory on a mountaintop. Moses and Elijah appeared and spoke with Jesus about what was to come. The voice of God came down and declared Jesus was His Son.

Brite Idea: Jesus reveals God’s glory.

Mary and Martha (Luke 10:38–42)

Martha was busy with chores while Mary sat at Jesus’ feet. Martha became frustrated and asked Jesus to tell Mary to help her. Jesus told Martha that she was distracted by many things, but only one thing truly mattered—spending time with Him.

Brite Idea: Jesus wants a relationship with us.

This Month’s Unit Title Is: Extraordinary!

Like a good science experiment, Jesus is truly extraordinary—nothing and no one in this world compares to Him! He often surprises us in unexpected ways, showing up in moments we least expect with love, power and grace that go beyond anything we’ve ever known. His words, miracles and compassion set Him apart from everyone else. Jesus isn’t just extraordinary in what He does—He invites us into an extraordinary relationship with Him, one filled with purpose, hope, and unmatched love. Teaching Kids about the Gospel:

The Gospel is the good news. God wants everyone to know this good news and not miss out on this invitation!

Here’s the Gospel in four main words: God, Us, Jesus, Trust.

God

God is a loving God who is all-powerful and holy. He knows and sees everything and rules over everything. God created all people in His image, and we are valuable to Him.

Us

But we have sinned, and our sin separates us from God. What is sin? Sin is anything we think, say or do that disobeys God. The penalty for sin is death and separation from God forever.

Jesus

But because God loves us so much, He sent His one and only Son, Jesus, to pay the penalty for our sin. Jesus died in our place. But He did not stay dead—He rose again three days later. Because of Jesus, we no longer have to be separated from God, and we are offered the free gift of eternal life!

Trust

God gives salvation—rescuing us from our sin—to everyone who places their trust in Jesus as their Savior. What is trust? It means that we rely on what Jesus did. You cannot be saved from sin by doing good things, but only through what Jesus did for you.
