Brite Monthly – Preschool: July 2025

This Month’s Biblical Theme Is: God Is Wise

Solomon wrote the book of Proverbs after God answered his prayer and gave him great wisdom. We should seek wisdom. Wisdom is understanding a situation and knowing what to do. God loves us so much that He sent His Son to die for our sins, but His love doesn’t stop there. God has much to say about friendship and how we use our words and resources. We can trust His ways and apply what we learn from Him.

Monthly Memory Verse: For the Lord gives wisdom. (Proverbs 2:6)

God’s Wisdom (Proverbs 2-3)

God is the source of all wisdom! We can seek Him first and study His Word. God’s wisdom protects us and helps us live life His way, bringing His blessings into our lives.

Brite Idea: God is the source of wisdom.

Wisdom with Friends (Proverbs 13:20, 17:17, 27:17)

God wants us to build wise friendships and to be a godly friend to others. Jesus is the best friend we will ever have and showed His true friendship by giving His life for us.

Brite Idea: God gives us wisdom for friendships.

Wisdom with Words (Proverbs 1, 10:19, 12:18, 15:1, 16:24, 18:21)

God wants us to be wise in how we speak to others. We honor God with kind, gentle, honest and careful words that bring life to those around us. Our words show what is in our hearts. They should honor God.

Brite Idea: God gives us wisdom in how we speak.

Wisdom in How We Use Money (Proverbs 3:9-10, 30:7-9)

We should handle money responsibly since we are managing God’s resources, and we should never let money become too important in our lives. The only thing that will eternally matter is if we know Jesus as our Savior.

Brite Idea: God gives us wisdom in how we use money.

This month’s Unit Title is: Into the Wild

We are continuing on our wild adventure of following God! Keep your decorations up from last month or rearrange them to freshen up your space. Continue with butcher paper vines, crepe paper trees and giant flowers! Hang animal print bunting and let kids get in touch with their wild side with animal masks! Check out our Pinterest page for more ideas.

This Month’s Leader Training Topic Is: Everyone Is Welcome

Recent estimates by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show that about one in six children ages 3-17 have one or more developmental disabilities and that one in 36 are diagnosed with autism. Research shows that the kids most likely to be excluded from church are those with invisible special needs (autism, ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder). This month we will discover strategies to provide safe and welcoming spaces for all kids.

Throughout the month, we’ll explore the following:

Week 1—Welcoming Kids With Special Needs

Week 2—Sharing the Gospel

Week 3—Be Aware of Your Environment

Week 4—Leading Questions for Parents

Teaching Kids about the Gospel

The Gospel is the good news. God wants everyone, even preschoolers, to know this good news.

Here’s the Gospel in four words: God, Us, Jesus, Trust.

God

God is a loving God who is all-powerful and holy. He knows and sees everything and rules over everything. God created all people in His image, and we are valuable to Him.

Us

But we have sinned, and our sin separates us from God. What is sin? Sin is anything we think, say or do that disobeys God. The penalty for sin is death and separation from God forever.

Jesus

But because God loves us so much, He sent His one and only Son, Jesus, to pay the penalty for our sin. Jesus died in our place. But He did not stay dead—He rose again three days later. Because of Jesus, we no longer have to be separated from God, and we are offered the free gift of eternal life!

Trust

God gives salvation—rescuing us from our sin, to everyone who places their trust in Jesus as their Savior. What is trust? It means that we rely on what Jesus did. You cannot be saved from sin by doing good things but only through what Jesus did for you.
