Brite Monthly – Preschool: October 2025
This Month’s Biblical Theme Is: God is King
God is King, reigning with absolute authority, justice and love over all creation. As the sovereign Ruler, His power is unmatched, and His wisdom guides the universe with perfect order and purpose. Unlike the earthly king the Israelites cried out for, God’s reign is eternal and unchanging, filled with mercy and grace for His people. He governs with a heart of compassion, inviting all to find refuge under His divine protection and provision. As King, He calls His followers to honor Him with reverence and obedience, promising an everlasting kingdom of peace and joy for those who trust in Him.
Monthly Bible Verse: He is the King of glory! (Psalm 24:10)
Big Question: Who is the King of everything? God is!
Israel’s First King (1 Samuel 8:1–9; 13:1–14, 15:10–29)
King Saul was chosen to lead the Israelites but disobeyed God. Because he forgot that God is the one true King, Saul’s time as king would come to an end.
Brite Idea: God is the one true King.
David is Chosen (1 Samuel 16)
God told Samuel to anoint a new King after Saul disobeyed God. David, the youngest and smallest son of Jesse was chosen to be the next king of Israel.
Brite Idea: God sees our hearts.
David and the Ark (2 Samuel 5–6)
After a great victory, King David brought the ark of the covenant back to Jerusalem. Ignoring what people thought, David openly danced and worshiped God in the street.
Brite Idea: God is worthy of worship.
God’s Covenant with David (2 Samuel 7)
God promised that David would have a son who would build the temple, but in an even greater promise, God said that One would come from David’s family who would be the King forever. This One was the Savior God promised throughout the Old Testament.
Brite Idea: God promised a forever King.

Preschool Perspectives
This Month’s Leader Training Topic Is: Neurodiverse Kids
This month’s Preschool Perspectives focuses on how to work with kids and handle situations with difficult behaviors, emotions, and what kids say. Even at a young age, kids will look to you in an eventful meltdown or time for empathy, understanding, and connection. While they may not be using words, they are communicating. We will look at some ways to maintain connection and control as one encounters such situations.
Throughout the month, we’ll explore the following:
Week 1 – Responding vs Reacting
Week 2 – Big Emotions
Week 3 – Remember, It’s Not About You
Week 4 – Our Words Are Powerful
Teaching Kids about the Gospel:
The Gospel is the good news. God wants everyone, even preschoolers, to know this good news.
Here’s the Gospel in four main words: God, Us, Jesus, Trust.
God
God is a loving God who is all-powerful and great. He knows and sees everything, and rules over everything. God created all people in His image, and we are special to Him.
Us
But we have sinned, and our sin separates us from God. What is sin? Sin is anything we think, say or do that disobeys God.
Jesus
God loves us so much, He sent His one and only Son, Jesus. Jesus came to save us by dying on the cross for our sins. Jesus rose again three days later and is alive!
Trust
God gives salvation, rescuing us from our sin, to everyone who places their trust in Jesus as their Savior. What is trust? It means that we rely on what Jesus did.
