Brite Monthly – Preschool: September 2024
This month’s Biblical theme is:
God Gives Us Hope
Throughout all the Bible stories of this month, one theme remains constant: God’s provision of hope. Despite challenges God orchestrates freedom, redemption and protection showcasing His power and faithfulness.
Big Question
Who gives us hope? God does!
Monthly Bible Verse:
May the God of hope fill you with all joy. Romans 15:13
Jacob and Esau (Genesis 25:24-34; 27-28) Isaac and Rebekah had twins, Jacob and Esau. Esau traded his birthright to Jacob for a fleeting bowl of stew. Jacob deceived their father, Isaac, for his blessing and fled. Jacob had a vision from God, reaffirming God’s covenant with him.
Joseph (Genesis 40-41) Joseph faced adversity, was sold into slavery and was later imprisoned after false accusations. Despite being forgotten in prison, he rose to interpret Pharaoh’s dream, predicted a famine, became a leader, and saved Egypt. God was faithful to Joseph!
Birth of Moses (Exodus 2:1-10) Pharaoh feared the growing Israelites, enslaved them, and ordered the death of Israelite boys. Moses’ family saved him, placing him in a river where Pharaoh’s daughter found him. Later, God freed His people through Moses.
Plagues (Exodus 7-12) Moses and Aaron demanded freedom for the Israelites, but Pharaoh refused. God unleashed severe plagues, showing His power. Despite warnings from Moses, Pharaoh refused until the fi nal plague—the death of Egypt’s fi rstborn. Finally, he relented, freeing the Israelites
The Red Sea (Exodus 14) God liberated the Israelites from Egypt, but Pharaoh pursued them. With His people trapped at the Red Sea, God parted the waters for their escape. As the Egyptians followed, the sea closed, drowning them. God saved His people, destroying the pursuing army.

Teaching Kids about the Gospel:
The gospel is the good news. God wants everyone, even preschoolers, to know this good news. Here’s the Gospel in four main words: God, Us, Jesus, Trust.
Here’s the Gospel in four words: God, Us, Jesus, Trust.
God
God is a loving God who is all-powerful and great. He knows and sees everything, and He rules over everything. God created all people in His image, and we are special to Him.
Us
But we have sinned, and our sin separates us from God. What is sin? Sin is anything we think, say or do that disobeys God.
Jesus
God loves us so much, He sent His one and only Son, Jesus. Jesus came to save us by dying on the cross for our sins. Jesus rose again three days later and is alive!
Trust
God gives salvation—rescuing us from our sin—to everyone who places their trust in Jesus as their Savior. What is trust? It means that we rely on what Jesus did.
