This week’s Brite lesson reminds kids that God’s Word is true and can always be trusted. As we study the Bible together, we’re helping kids build a strong foundation for their faith by discovering who God is and what He says is true.

Kids are growing up in a world with many different ideas about God, right and wrong, and what to believe. They may have questions or repeat things they have heard from friends, school, or home. It’s natural for them to have questions as they hear different perspectives. This week, we’re encouraging kids to bring those questions to God’s Word and discover that He is loving, trustworthy, and faithful.

As a family, make time to read a few verses from the Bible together this week. Let your kid know that it’s okay to ask questions, and remind them that God’s Word helps us know Him and guides us every day.

Here’s how we discussed this topic and how you can discuss it at home: 

Discuss: Do most people in the world believe in God and follow His ways?

Discuss: What are some things you’ve heard on YouTube or TV that were different from what the Bible teaches?

Discuss: What does God have to say about that?

Say: There are many people who don’t believe in Jesus. We are surrounded by many beliefs that are opposite of what the Bible says. You may hear other people say things that are confusing to you. You may even come across people who don’t like that you believe in Jesus. But God calls us to trust in Him, even if it is not very popular. We can trust that God’s Word is always true, no matter what the world says. John 17:17b says: Your word is truth. It is important to know the Bible so that we know what is true and what is not. We can show the world the love of Jesus even when they disagree with what we know is true.
