Jesus ascended into Heaven, promising that a Helper would come. Days later, the Holy Spirit came to the disciples just as Jesus had promised! They were able to speak in other languages and preach. The church was born and many people believed. The Gospel began to spread from Jerusalem throughout the world

After meeting Jesus, Paul was completely transformed. He went from hating Christians to preaching the Gospel wherever he went. He would be beaten, imprisoned and sent to stand trial in Rome. Paul was God’s messenger to the gentile, or non-Jewish, world. God used him to perform miracles and show His great power. No matter what, Paul would say that it was Christ working through him to spread the Gospel.
Much of the New Testament is comprised of Epistles, or letters that were written to the early Church. These churches were spread all around the Mediterranean. The epistles were authored by James, Paul, Peter, Jude and John. They were written to give encouragement, direction and doctrine to the early Church. There was a lot of confusion within the new churches about what they should be following. Jesus had only just died, risen and gone to heaven. Paul and John wrote to clarify how God loves unconditionally and calls us to do the same. We should look to Jesus to see the greatest example of love and humility.
God’s love is perfect.
1 Corinthians 13
Jesus showed us humility.
Philippians 2

1 John 4:7-21, 2 John 1:5-6
Jesus instructed His followers to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God chose each of us to share the good news about Him with others! The good news is that Jesus died, rose again and made a way for us to be free from sin and have a relationship with Him forever. We can share this news with everyone, whether that is here in our neighborhoods or around the world as missionaries!
God calls us to tell others about Him.
Matthew 28:16-20
God uses believers to share His good news.
Romans 10:9-15
God calls us to be ready to share the Gospel.
Colossians 4:2-6
God wants the whole world to know about Him.
John 3:16, Mark 16:15-16; Matthew 24:14
This month, we are learning all about the unwavering goodness of God. In the creation story, God crafted a perfect world and formed a special relationship with humans. Despite humanity’s sins, as seen in Cain and Abel’s story, God’s protection and love endure. God’s goodness shines through in Noah’s rescue from the flood and in God fulfilling His promise to Abraham and Sarah, bringing unexpected joy. Through these stories, God’s consistent goodness, faithfulness and love for humanity are evident, emphasizing His enduring care and blessings.
