Unit Overview
Monthly Memory Verse: The Lord is good to all. (Psalm 145:9)
Psalms of Wisdom (Psalm 19; Genesis 1)
Wisdom psalms guide us in how God wants us to live. David celebrates how God reveals Himself through both nature and His Word. God’s creation shows us how good God is. We can praise God and seek Him daily.
Brite Idea: God is good.
Psalms of Lament (Psalm 22; Esther 2–8)
Psalms of lament express sadness, frustration or even complaints to God. Psalm 22 encourages us to share all our emotions to God and remember His goodness and faithfulness. Esther shows us that no matter how we feel, we can still have hope. God can help us; He is faithful to keep His promises. We can praise God, knowing His goodness and holiness never end.
Brite Idea: God is good even when we are hurting.
Psalms of Trust (Psalm 23; 1 Samuel 16)
Before David was chosen as king, he was a shepherd boy. In Psalm 23, David compares God to a shepherd. A shepherd guides, comforts and provides for those in his care. The psalms of trust highlight God’s protection and care, encouraging us to trust in Him.
Brite Idea: God is our Good Shepherd.
Psalms of Thanksgiving (Psalm 136; John 6:1–15)
The psalmist walks through the history of Israel, from creation to God’s rescue in the promised land. We can thank God for His eternal goodness and His never-failing love. The feeding of the 5,000 is a reminder of God’s goodness to provide and how we can always give Him thanks.
Brite Idea: God does good things for His people.
This Month’s Unit Title Is: Splash!
We can dive fully into what God has called us to do, knowing we’re never alone. God is good and always there to help. Just like a swim teacher shows the right strokes, the Holy Spirit guides us in how to love others. And like a lifeguard who never stops watching, God is always looking out for us. We can call on Him anytime, and He will be there. Check out our Pinterest page for decorating ideas: https://www.pinterest.com/britecurriculum/splash/.

This Month’s Leader Training Topic Is: Recognizing Emotional Needs.
To create a Gospel-centered environment, preschool leaders must first address kids’ emotional and physical needs. When kids are able to express their feelings—whether through a feelings wall, art or music—they begin to understand that their emotions are seen and valued by God. By offering comfort during moments of separation anxiety or by meeting physical needs like hunger or rest, we can help kids feel safe and ready to receive the love of Jesus!
Throughout the month, we’ll explore the following:
Week 1—Naming Feelings
Week 2—Separation Anxiety
Week 3—Art and Feelings
Week 4—Meet the Needs
Teaching Kids about the Gospel:
The Gospel is the good news. God wants everyone, even preschoolers, to know this good news.
Here’s the Gospel in four main words: God, Us, Jesus, Trust.
God
God is a loving God who is all-powerful and great. He knows and sees everything, and rules over everything. God created all people in His image, and we are special to Him.
Us
But we have sinned, and our sin separates us from God. What is sin? Sin is anything we think, say or do that disobeys God.
Jesus
God loves us so much, He sent His one and only Son, Jesus. Jesus came to save us by dying on the cross for our sins. Jesus rose again three days later and is alive!
Trust
God gives salvation, rescuing us from our sin, to everyone who places their trust in Jesus as their Savior. What is trust? It means that we rely on what Jesus did.
