Unit Overview

Monthly Memory Verse: May God equip you with everything good. (Hebrews 13:21)

Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:13–26)

God sent Paul to share the Gospel and start churches. He wrote letters, including one to the Galatians, urging them to live by the Spirit. Paul taught that the Holy Spirit produces fruit in our hearts. We need the Spirit’s help to live the way God wants.

Brite Idea: The Holy Spirit helps us live like Jesus.

Faith (Hebrews 11:1–12:2)

Hebrews teaches the importance of faith and reminds us that faith is essential to our relationship with God. Salvation comes through faith in Jesus by His grace.

Brite Idea: God helps His people have faith.

Timothy (1 and 2 Timothy)

Timothy helped Paul share the Gospel and start churches. He later became a pastor. Paul wrote two letters to guide and encourage him, reminding him to lead well, even in hard times. These letters show us that everyone has a role in God’s church.

Brite Idea: God helps us do His work.

James (James 2:1–17)

James wrote a letter full of wisdom for believers. He reminds us that God loves both the rich and poor. True faith shows in merciful actions that help others. God’s love is for all, and trusting in Jesus leads to eternal life.

Brite Idea: God helps us love others.

This Month’s Unit Title Is: Splash!

We can dive fully into what God has called us to do, knowing we’re never alone. God is good and always there to help. Just like a swim teacher shows the right strokes, the Holy Spirit guides us in how to love others. And like a lifeguard who never stops watching, our Lifeguard—God—is always looking out for us. We can call on Him anytime, and He will be there. Check out our Pinterest page for decorating ideas: https://www.pinterest.com/britecurriculum/splash/

This Month’s Leader Training Topic Is: Dealing with Common Problem Behaviors

Some behaviors are universal. No matter the size or location of your church, kids are still the same and can display the same troublesome behaviors. This month, we will look at how to navigate four common issues.

Throughout the month, we’ll explore the following:

Week 1 – Friend Drama

Week 2 – Talking While You’re Talking

Week 3 – Refusing to be Involved

Week 4 – Roughhousing

Teaching Kids about the Gospel:

The Gospel is the good news. God wants everyone, even preschoolers, to know this good news. Here’s the Gospel in four main words: God, Us, Jesus, Trust.

God

God is a loving God who is all-powerful and great. He knows and sees everything, and rules over everything. God created all people in His image, and we are special to Him.

Us

But we have sinned, and our sin separates us from God. What is sin? Sin is anything we think, say or do that disobeys God.

Jesus

God loves us so much, He sent His one and only Son, Jesus. Jesus came to save us by dying on the cross for our sins. Jesus rose again three days later and is alive!

Trust

God gives salvation, rescuing us from our sin, to everyone who places their trust in Jesus as their Savior. What is trust? It means that we rely on what Jesus did.
